Privacy & Terms

Legal pages are usually written to protect companies from you. Ours is written the way we write everything: plainly, so you actually know where you stand. The short version of all of it: your data is yours, your decisions are yours, and we're a tool — a good one, we hope — not an advisor, a bank, or a judge.

Plain-language notice: we write our policies the way we write everything else at SOLVO — in plain English first. This page will always have a plain summary alongside the full legal text.

The promises (privacy)

We will never sell your personal or financial data. Not "anonymized." Not "aggregated to partners." Never.

We will never show you ads, or let anyone advertise against your financial stress.

Your data is never used to train AI models.

Deleting your account really deletes your data. No shadow copies kept for "analytics."

What we collect, and why

Only what the product needs to work: your account basics (name, email), the debts, budgets, income, and envelope details you choose to enter or import, and the minimal technical logs any service needs to stay secure and fix bugs. We don't collect what we don't need — minimal collection is a design principle here, not a compliance checkbox.

Where it lives

Your data is stored in your account on our infrastructure (currently Supabase/PostgreSQL), encrypted in transit and at rest, protected by row-level security so your records are readable by your account and no one else's. We describe what's true, not what sounds nice — if our architecture changes, this page changes with it.

Imports and AI features

When you upload a statement or spreadsheet for import, the file is processed to extract your numbers and then deleted — files aren't kept after extraction, and account numbers are redacted before any AI processing. Every AI-powered feature in SOLVO is opt-in, clearly labeled, and the app works completely without any of them.

Your rights

You can export your data, correct it, or delete your account (and everything in it) at any time, from inside the app — no emails, no retention maze. If you're in California, the EU, or anywhere with data-rights laws: yes, those rights are honored, and honestly, we extend the same treatment to everyone regardless of where they live.

The one thing we'll never ask for

SOLVO never asks for your bank passwords. Ever. If account linking is offered in the future, it happens only through official, regulated connection services — never by you typing a bank login into our app, and never by pasting credentials into an AI.

The terms (use)

What SOLVO is

SOLVO provides educational information and self-help tools: organization, calculations, templates, and plain-English explanations. It is not financial, legal, tax, or credit-repair advice, and using it doesn't create any advisor or attorney relationship. The letter templates describe rights that federal law gives you independent of SOLVO — you choose whether and how to use them, and you're responsible for making sure anything you send is accurate.

What we don't promise

We never guarantee outcomes — not score changes, not deletions, not settlements, not savings. Every projection in SOLVO is an estimate computed from the numbers you provide, and it's only as accurate as those numbers. We show our math precisely so you can judge it yourself.

Your part

Use is voluntary. Your data entries are yours to verify. Your decisions — and their consequences — belong to you; SOLVO's job is to make them clearer, never to make them for you. Using the dispute tools to knowingly challenge accurate information isn't what they're for, and it's prohibited here (it can also backfire on you — honest disputes are the ones that work).

Money stuff

SOLVO is currently free while in early access. When paid plans arrive, the deal will be stated plainly on the pricing page: cancel in two taps, no retention maze, no guilt copy, prices honored for existing members, and a hardship policy — because the app about escaping debt should never become one of your debts.

The boring-but-standard part

SOLVO is provided "as is" without warranties; our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us (currently: nothing); don't misuse the service, attempt to access others' data, or resell our content. This section will be expanded with formal legal language over time — the plain-English meaning here won't change, only the precision of the wording.
